Tapan Acharya is a well-known Indian actor, screenwriter, and producer born on August 2, 1981, in a small town of Loliem Polem in the state of Goa. He received his primary education at Shri Damodar Vidyalaya in his village. He went to Shri Damodar college of business and economics in Margao, South Goa, for his higher education. He earned a postgraduate diploma in management studies while working on his legal degree. He has several degrees and certificates in gemology, astrology, and vedic studies. He is married to Dr Tanya Duggal. He is most known in Marathi and Konkani cinema. He also worked for the Election Commission of India as a state youth idol to raise voter awareness in Goa.
As the host of Doordarshan Goa's TV show Chum Chum Chanana, he was thrown into the public glare for the first time. He went on to star in his first film, Aleesha, in 2004, which was well praised and won the National Award. He worked as a producer on the film Janma (2011). He is also the founder and CEO of HiFlix.
