O.U. Basheer

O U Basheer is a well-known Indian singer, predominantly working in the Malayalam music industry. He was born and brought up in Kedamangalam, North Paravur, Kerala. He started his musical journey at the RLV College of Music and Fine Arts in Tripunithura. He frequently performed Mappilapaattu and other cinematic songs in his locality. Basheer won the reality show Patturumal: Season One, telecasted by Kairali T.V., which marked the beginning of his stardom.

In his career, he has sung many album songs, including devotional songs. His famous records are titled Orkkunnu Njaan, Ayyapacharitham, Ramadan Kareem, and Ahada: Pallikoodam Mappila Song. He was given contracts to sing by the labels Millennium Audios and M. C. Audios and Videos.

As a playback singer, Basheer worked with renowned director Sibi Malayil Sibi Malayil is an acclaimed director in Malayalam >> Read More... in the 2006 movie Kissan. In the Shaji N. Karun directorial Kuttysrank, he recorded the song Aaraandun Koorikkootti with famous Malayalam actor Mammootty in 2010. Other than this, he exhibited his singing skills in more than eight movies, including Ee Bhaargaveenilayam, Senior Mandrake, Chekavar, and Mr. Wrong Number. He was also reported to have curated the soundtrack for the movies Nna, Thaan Case Kodu and The Teacher in 2022.
