Kozhikode Sharda was born in 1937 in the beautiful city of Kozhikode, Kerala. As a native of Kozhikode, Sharda became widely known as Sharda Kozhikode. She started her journey as a theater artiste, and with her deep work ethic she became an extraordinary actress who appeared in more than 90 Malayalam films and several other serials, that also in the mere span of four decades. Her debut on the silver screen was in the film Angakkuri in 1979. One focal point where she was appreciated thoroughly was when she played the role of Manoj K Jayan’s mother in Sallapam. Furthermore, she was also the recipient of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award. She was taken away from this world on 8th November 2021 with a dire cardiac arrest.
