Satish Babusenan

Satish Babusenan is a Malayalam director, writer and an M.Des in Visual Communication from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He is the brother of the famous director with whom he directed many movies. He is married to Archana Babusenan, a radio newscaster, and his daughter's name is Niranjana. His father is a prestigious award-winning writer, V. Babusenan, who won the Sahitya Akademi award. His mother is a retired officer, Ambika Devi.

The Babusenan Brothers debuted in 2015 for their Malayalam independent drama film, "Chaayam Poosiya Veedu" (The Painted House). His journey started as a writer at an early age. He first released "Fool's Pool - A Composition for the Violin" in 1988. After that, he began working as a cinematographer, director and writer. The short film was selected for the Split Film Festival in Croatia and the Mumbai International Film Festival.

In 2016, they directed the film "Ottayal Paatha", and the film won the award for the second-best film in Silver Gateway at the 18th Jio Mumbai Film Festival held in October 2016. It also won the John Abraham Award for the Best Malayalam Film in 2016. It was also nominated for the prestigious Cairo International Film Festival held in Cairo in November 2016. The Babusenan brothers had to fight against the Censor Board to win the right to certify their anti-right for the film. In 2020, they released a philosophical film, "Maya - The Search for Happiness". "The Fifth Element" produced most of their movies. The production comprised five friends: Doney Joseph, K. Sree Kumar, Tommy John and the Babusenan Brothers. Satish Babusenan is a very philosophical person with high ethics which resulted in his success and popularity in the Malayalam entertainment industry. Most of his movies are based on philosophy and human ethical principles which made his movies not only successful in India but also abroad for example; he got the Silvers Gateway award.
