Choi Won-young is a South Korean actor who was born on the 10th of January, 1976, in South Korea. He studied Stage Design at Sangmyung University and acquired a Master’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Hongik University. Won-young married his former co-star from the 2013 TV series ‘A Hundred Year Legacy’, Shim Yi-young, on February 28, 2014, at the Grand Ballroom of the COEX Walkerhill Hotel in Samseong-dong. The couple has two daughters together. He made his acting debut in the widely famous movie ‘Sex Is Zero’, in the year 2012.

He went on to work in many movies like ‘Love in Magic’, ‘Tarzan Park Heung-Suk’, etc. He made his TV debut with the 2006 Korean series ‘Drama City: She's Smiling’ and has since worked on countless series. He won the ‘Best Supporting Actor award consecutively in 2016 and 2017 for ‘The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop’ and ‘Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth and Mad Dog’ at the KBS Drama Awards.
