Jin Goo was born on the 20th of July, 1980. He works as an actor in South Korea. He is most known for his part in the critically acclaimed and financially successful television series Descendants of the Sun. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at both the Grand Bell and Blue Dragon Film Awards for his performance in Bong Joon-2009 ho's noir thriller Mother. Jin Goo made his television debut in the 2003 gambling drama All In, playing the younger version of Lee Byung-protagonist hun's role. They appeared together again in Kim Jee-film woon's noir A Bittersweet Life, and Jin later joined Lee when he founded his own management company, BH Entertainment.

Jin appeared in the one-episode drama Saya, Saya ("Bird, Bird") in 2005, adapted on Shin Kyung-novel. It earned the top prize in the Prix Italia TV movie/miniseries category. The judges described it as "a wonderful, touching, and poetic narrative about the power of love with high-quality performances." Jin's breakout performance would come in the form of a highly lauded supporting role in 2009's Mother. His work in the Bong Joon-ho thriller garnered him nominations for the Grand Bell Awards, the University Film Festival of Korea, and the Blue Dragon Film Awards. Jin ditched his tough-guy persona in 2010 to portray a down-to-earth aspiring cook in Le Grand Chef 2: Kimchi Battle.

He went on to say that following the filming, he was able to cook kimchi with his mother, which was a wonderful experience. He appeared in the thriller The Target, the historical movie The Admiral: Roaring Currents, and the nostalgic musical drama C'est Si Bon. Jin appeared in Northern Limit Line, a nautical thriller about the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong, in 2015. Jin finished his required military duty as a member of the Republic of Korea Navy military police. Jin was born under the sign of Cancer, and his blood type is AB. On September 21, 2014, Jin married his fiancée. In June 2015, the couple gave birth to a son. In November 2016, they had their second child, a baby girl. Jin has appeared in various films and television programs, including Aiseukeki, Biyeolhan Geori, Dalkomhan Insaeng, Athena: Goddess of War, Swallow the Sun (Taeyangeul Samkyeora), and Spotlight.
