Karma Takapa is a director and writer of Indian origin. He hails from a village called Borong, Gangtok in the state of Sikkim. He has studied Direction and Screenplay writing at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune. He started his career by directing regional language films. He was the co-director of the movie Mor Mann Ke Bharam (2015) which was selected for premiere at the Mumbai Film Festival. It also won a Special Jury Prize. His film Ralang Road was screened at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. He has written and directed the movie Where the Winds Blow (to be released). He also wrote the short film Thutse Kyuma (2012). He acted in the movie I.D. in the year 2012. The role of Dev in the web series The Last Hour (2021) brought him to the forefront.
