Divya Johri

Divya Johri is a writer who works in the Bollywood industry. She is an Economics graduate from St. Stephens College, University of Delhi. She went to Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom to study Scriptwriting. When Johri was in college pursuing her degree in Economics, she had no idea that she was to become a writer in future. Back then, Johri was a student in the same college but she had no interest in meeting the crew or watching the shoot. Little did she know that someday she will be writing a script with the man himself.

After completing her college, Johri started working for a multinational company. At the same time, she was preparing for MBA exams. Years later, Johri watched Rockstar. The movie enthralled her. She became curious about the screenplay and the writing. And that’s how her scriptwriting journey began. Since then, Johri has never looked back. While she was studying scriptwriting in Bournemouth, a teacher motivated her to write a novel.

Johri’s debut novel is titled The Longest Ride Click to look into! >> Read More... on the Kincham Express. The root of the storyline lay in Johri’s love for train rides. The story is about the journey of five passengers. Johri’s stories were nominated for NFDC Children’s Screenwriters’ Lab. She was also nominated for Mumbai Mantra CineRise Award in 2016. She collaborated with Imtiaz Ali to write the script of the 2020 web series She. Johri has also written scripts for The Stolen Christmas and Dr Arora The protagonist of the show, Mr.Arora (Kumud Mishr >> Read More... . In both the works she collaborated with Imtiaz Ali. The Stolen Christmas released in 2015 whereas Dr Arora released in 2022. Johri considers Imtiaz Ali as her inspiration.
