In 2009, she played the lead role in the drama serial Kalpana, which is still airing on DD National channel until now. This is one of the popular Doordarshan’s television shows, which garnered 4.22 TVR ratings on the show’s 3rd episode. Ekta Saraiya is an Indian TV actress known for her performances in serials like Mukti bandhan and Kya Hua Tera Vaada.

Muktibandhan was a tele-serial made on the novel of Harkishan Mehta' popular novel of the same name. The serial was produced by Shobhana Desai and directed by Vikram Ghai. It was telecast on Colors TV during 2011. Thought the serial was not a very successful one, the performance of Ekta was much appreciated as Rajvi, who depicted the conflict of a dedicated wife for her husband and on the other hand her ex lover having a crush at her still after her marriage and child birth. The dilemma of the woman was presented by Ekta in a very beautiful manner which earned accolades for her from all corners. 

After her success in this serial, Ekta was again seen in the next serial of Balaji telefilms of Ekta Kapoor, 'Kya Hua Tera vaada'. The serial was telecasted on Sony TV and was a success. Ekta Sharma is an Indian television actress, known for her two famous roles-that of a loving sister and of a companion of the lead actors, in many television serials. Ekta was born on March 20th and is the sister of Aarti (also known by her screen name Ekta), who played the female lead role in Dev Anand’s film some time ago. She started her television career through the comedy show, Daddy Samjha Karo, broadcast on Sab TV. Ekta has usually been seen in the Balaji Telefilms’ television serials, such as Kkusum, the sister of Abhay in 2003. She was also seen on Sahara One’s drama series Kamini Damini and Pratima in the year 2004. Ekta was also part of the Hindi serial Paalkhi on Zee TV in 2005. Then, in 2006, she appeared in the Hindi soap Risshton Ki Dor as Rita, a nurse. The actress went on to play another sisterly role to Meera Singhania (played by Shubhavi K.) in the Balaji Telefilms’ Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Nowadays, Ekta is hoping to get more diverse and challenging roles, other than that of a sister. During an interview in 2008, she was asked what types of roles she preferred doing. Ekta replied that as an actress, she needed to enact all types of shades and added that she would learn more if she could experiment with different types of roles. In 2007, she appeared in another Ekta Kapoor’s soap entitled Khwaish, aired on Sony Entertainment Television. Ekta played Naaz Khan Hassan, the wife of Yasir (played by Nandish Sandhu) in the serial. After this, she played the sister to Manmeet (played by Avinash Sachdev) on another Balaji Telefilm’s production, ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil’ on the Star Plus channel, followed by an appearance in the Hindi serial Solhah Singaarr, where she played a parallel lead role on Sahara One channel. Ekta was also seen as Lovely Guggal in the 4 Lions Films’ Suvreen Guggal – Topper of the Year. She married Anil Donde, a business development manager, in April 2009. They were blessed with a daughter named Kiara, last year.
