Sana Iqbal was a solo Indian woman biker famous for leading the fight against suicide and depression among the youth of the country. Sana was born on 16 January 1987 in Hyderabad. In the seventh grade, she discovered her knack for bike riding and has followed her passion ever since. In 2015, Sana set out on a cross-country solo trip from Goa with the objective of passing through every Indian state. She completed her mission on 13 June 2016 after covering two countries, 29 states, and five Union Territories. Her journey was supported and celebrated by bikers all over the country. But life was not all cakewalk for Sana. At a point in her life, at the age of 27, she was so depressed that she set out on her bike with a wish to end her life. Fortunately, nothing happened to her that day, and she returned home safe, but by then life had taught her a valuable lesson. Since that day, she decided to find her peace and motivate others to do the same.
She started a facebook page with the same motive and became a shining light for the depressed and mistrodden youth. The Facebook page- Suicide is not the solution is managed by her friend, Arif Ali Mohammed now and continues to spread her message despite her absence. Sana conducted several workshops intending to cease the incidence of suicide throughout the years and was invited to a TED×DELHI event as a speaker where she delivered a marvellous speech on 'A Smile can Save your Life'. However, Sana herself had a short life ahead of her. On the estranged morning of 24 October 2017, at the age of 30, Sana had a car accident while travelling with her husband, Nadeem on Nehru Outer Ring Road, Hyderabad. While her husband suffered some injuries, Sana died on the spot in the accident. Her message, however, continues to inspire the youth.
