He belongs to a lineage of musical artistry with his father, Pt. Vijay Sardeshmukh being a renowned and celebrated Indian classical vocalist. Swaroop, too, is a North Indian classical vocalist and specializes in sound recording, editing, and mixing. He graduated with a B.Com in Marketing Management from Savitribai Phule University in 2008 and went on to complete Master’s in Sound Design/Audiography from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He can speak Hindi, English, Marathi, Sanskrit, and Spanish. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, US, Swaroop works as a freelance audio recording and mixing engineer.

Swaroop has worked in the sound department as a boom operator, sound editor, sound designer, production mixer, etc. for various movies such as Hawaizaada (2015), A Rainy Day (2014), Katiyar Kaljat Ghusali (2015), TV mini-series Metro Park Serial Story Coming Soon... >> Read More... He has also acted in Prabhat Nagari, Rizwan, and a documentary about musicians called Raag Prayag.

Apart from musical endeavors, Swaroop Sardeshmukh has served as an assistant professor in the Department of Media and Communication Studies at Savitribai Phule University for a year and as a teaching assistant in Film and Media Studies at Johns Hopkins University. With over ten years of experience as an audio professional, he has worked individually as well as collaborated with many established and award-winning filmmakers across India and around the world. Swaroop Sardeshmukh has performed at several concerts, showcasing his talents and hard work and has accompanied artists on distinguished platforms like Tansen Samaroh and Sawi Gandharv Music.
