Vijay Sardeshmukh

Pt Vijay Sardeshmukh, a renowned and excellent musician of musician and vocalist, was born on 23rd June 1972 in Pune, Maharashtra. His father was a magnificent harmonium player and a great vocalist. Vijay Sardeshmukh attracted towards music after seeing his multitalented, hardworking, and passionate father. His father knew Kumar Gandhawa from an early age, and they had a nice frienship, and after some years of hard work, Sardeshmukh became a disciple of the great Kumar Gandhawa.

He made him learn all the alanakrs, ragas, the soul of music. He had taught him in such a way that all his qualities were saw in his music. Not only that, but he was an honored guru in his post-graduation from Pune University. Furthermore, he worked in the Bank of India and retired to devote all his time to classical music. Vijay Sardeshmuskh started his career with a debut in the "Swar Sadhana Conference" organized in Pune in 1974. He was a Graded Artist of All India Radio and Door darshan since 1977. He won the Vatsalbai Joshi Award. His main performances include AARAT BANI - Bal Gandharva Ranga Mandir, Pune (1986), SPIC MACAY, Pune (1988), Vishnu Digambar Sangeet Mahotsav and New Delhi (1990). Sardeshmukh died on 5 October 2019 in Pune due to blood cancer. He was a great soul with a burning desire for music.
