Suneeta Rao

Suneeta Rao was born on 5th April 1967. She is an Indian pop star, dancer and stage actress. She was born in Germany. She completed her schooling in Mumbai and higher education at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Suneeta began her career with Suneeta Senorita in 1989. She became well liked with the song “Paree Hoon Main”. Rao released a Hindi Pop album entitled “Dhuan” in 1991 with HMV, which sold over 75000 copies, music by Leslie Lewis. The song and the video “Paree” from the album made by Suneeta Rao is a household name, thus leading the press to crown lovingly her the “Paree of the Masses”. In 1994, Suneeta made “Adi Para Mangatha”, from a Tamil Film “May Madham”, which was her first and only memory with A.R. Rahman.

Two videos that hit the screen were the songs “Dekha Dekha” and “Kesariya”, two folk tracks that replaced Suneeta Rao at the top of the graphs. She then liberated a new single music video entitled “Choti Choti Baatein” as part of the Magnasound album “A Reason to Smile” on the event of 50 years of Indian Independence.

She also presented a group song on the album called “Wajah Muskurane Ki.” Besides going platinum, all the above albums were at the top of the Hindi Music Charts. Her album “Ab key Baras” has rising, sensuous, joyous music that blends traditional folk music with modern production values. Suneeta Rao also has shows in Africa and Pakistan in the offing, as well as several other projects for television, theater and films. Suneeta Rao also performed for NDTV in 2008.
