Shashi Lata Virk

Shashi Lata Virk is a seasoned Indian Classical Singer. She started her training for singing at an early age of seven under the guidance of Ustad Bhure Khan. Due to her hardwork and dedication, she became the youngest Top Grade Artist at All India Radio. She got married to an Air Force Officer and shifted to Bombay. In Bombay, she recorded her first album of Ghazals with HMV India. She was playback singer in several movies like Dukh Aur Sukh and Sandhya. She was also honoured by British Columbia Cultural Association. She has performed in prestigious events like ‘First Ever Sacred Music Festival’ in Vancouver and ‘Rootsfest’ in Victoria. Some of her notable albums are Tanhaee, Dreams, Shardhanjli. Shashi has also been appointed as member of All India Radio and TV Auditioning Board. She runs Shashilata Music Academy at Surrey.
