When Prasant was just 14 years old, he performed at the Mughal Gardens in the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the presence of then President R Venkatraman and Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
The Union Government gave him the National Scholarship to train in Indian classical music. After that, the singer attended the renowned ITC Sangeet Research Academy.
