Jaswinder Singh is a well-known Ghazal singer, who was born in Mumbai, India to Kuldip Singh, a famous music director for Hindi movies, who composed Ghazals like Itni Shakti Hame De Na Daata. He is also a classical singer, trained under Dr Sushila Pohankar and the Indian classical vocalist, Maestro Pandit Ajay Pohankar. Jaswinder was initially trained by his father and later by Indian Ghazal singer and musician, .

. His family shares a close bond with the late Ghazal singer, Jagjit Singh, who has been his guru in his initial years. Jagjit helped him in shaping his style in singing and composing. In the year 2001, Jagjit introduced him to the world of Ghazal through his debut album, Aage Aage Dekhiye.
He also performed along with his favorite guru (Jagjit) on stage during the latter’s UK concert in the year 2001. Jaswinder was selected to sing for Kaifi Aur Main, a stage play that depicts the life and times of the notable poet and lyricist Kaifi Azmi. The play features real-life couple

. The cast shared an interesting story from the life of Kaifi Sahib, a revolutionary poet. He lends his voice to some of the outstanding Ghazals, and Kaifi Saheb wrote the songs. He also made a performance in the conceptual show, Ghalibnaama, which is based on the poetry and writing style of Mirza Ghalib.
He performed the song entitled Bahut Yaad Aate Ho Tum in Satyamev Jayate, a television talk show created by

in July 2012. He has toured all over the country and in countries like Singapore, UK, Australia, Canada, Dubai, Malaysia and Muscat and performed in more than five hundred live concerts. He was awarded ‘The Young Ghazal Maestro’ by the Indian Music Academy, which was presented by Pt.

He also released the music albums, Dilkash and Yours Truly earlier, by Tips Music, which proves that he is a successor of prominent Ghazal singers, Jagjit Singh and

. Jaswinder is known for doing foot-tapping songs and some Sufi, which he usually done at the end of his shows to make the evening more entertaining. In 2013, he sang for A.R. Rahman in the romantic drama film, Raanjhanaa. He has been invited in several special events including the 24th Sulaiman Khateeb Memorial function and the memorial concert of the late Jagjit Singh.
