Hamza Akram is based in Karachi and a renowned Sufi playback singer. He belongs to the illustrations family of Qawwali and classical music. Born on July 1, 1992, the singer was privileged to come from a family where his ancestors were singers and hailed from the ‘Delhi Gharana’ kind of music. When Hamza was 15 years old he started taking training to upgrade his vocal skills.
He attributes to the fact that without support and teaching of his Ustaad Saam Sahab, it would not have been possible for him to perform at all. He also attributes his successful journey in musical career through the support of parents. Hamza learned to play the Harmonium from Saami Sahab. Later he joined the National Academy of Performing Arts and learned to play the piano to suit western trends in music. Hamza had matriculation level of learning from Eden Grammar School and his stage performance had tried to take it shape when was in school.
Later, he participated in a competition organized by All Pakistan Music Conference in 2005 and won the first prize. This gave him enough confidence and he got many chances to release his album. His international album ‘Sada-e-Sufi’ has released from India but could not get released in Pakistan for want of private sponsor. The album in India was released through Times Music label in India. Even worldwide, the musical album 'Sada-e-Sufi' was released. He did not want the musical album to release in digital format as people prefer hearing qawwali song in CD format only in Pakistan.
