Diljit Dosanjh, born on 6 January 1984, in Jalandhar district, Punjab, India, is a Singer by profession. His genres being Bhangra and Punjabi, he has also acted in Punjabi movies. He is about to make his Bollywood début with
Udta Punjab. He will be working with
Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, and
Alia Bhatt. Diljit does not belong to a musical family. His Father Balbir Singh Dosanjh is a Punjab railway employee and his mother, a Housewife. This heartthrob of young Punjabi's started singing Sikh music at local gurdwaras. In school, he often did Kirtans.
His first album was Ishq Da Uda Ada. It released in 2000, with Finetune Cassettes of T-series. Bablu Mahindra composed the music, and Balvir Boparai was the lyricist. His second Finetone album Dil released in 2004. Both didn’t do much for his career. He gained popularity with his third album called Smile. The album included tracks Nach Diya Allhar and Kuwariyan. He went on to release more singles and his sixth album The Next Level with eight tracks. The album won him the Best Folk Pop Album at the PTC Punjabi Music Awards. Diljit again collaborated with Yo Yo Honey Singh in the hit album International Villager. He sang Bollywood songs, including Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya and Aidaan Hi Nachna from
