Pankaj Saraswat

Pankaj Saraswat is a Mumbai-based film enthusiast who has engaged himself in various aspects of cinema and media related works, such as script writing for TV shows, dialogue writing for movies, acting in supporting roles and even directing his own movie.

Pankaj started his career in films by acting in the 2003-released film ‘Paanch,’ in which he plays a supporting character. His next project was also another Bollywood film titled ‘Ab Tak Chappan’ in which he donned the role of a supporting cast again. The film was released in 2004.

His steps into mainstream cinema have been slow and steady. Before he began acting, he was a writer for a 1999 TV show named ‘ The Juice Juice is an Indian television show that premiered >> Read More... ’. Owing to its lack of content and a presiding theme, He failed to gain recognition through the work.

Following his acting phase, He wrote the dialogues and screenplay for a 2005 released movie titled ‘Main, Meri Patni….Aur Woh!’ Since the theme was fresh and the story humorous, the audience loved the work of art, and Pankaj was lucky enough to have got the opportunity to direct a TV show in the same year. The show was named as ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’. After his success as a director, he received the opportunity to direct many television series and films, most of them in the comic genre.

Though Pankaj has taken radical measures regarding his shows such as portraying the Indian Prime Minister humorously on TV, he believes that the charm of a show that’s aired on television lies in its finality. It must have a well-defined end such as a certain amount of episodes or a certain period. He believes that only a finite television show would have a certain amount of standards and quality.

Pankaj married the popular Bollywood actress Tejaswini Kalhapuri, but he has never compelled her to act in any of his shows or films.
