Abhilasha Negi attended Abu Dhabi Indian School. She graduated in Journalism and Mass Communication from Amity University in Delhi. She started her career as a junior visualizer in 2005 at the Delhi-based Mudra Communications. She shifted to Mumbai in Maharashtra and joined Balaji Telefilms as a screenplay writer. Abhilasha Negi has written over seven hundred episodes for the well-liked Zee TV drama series Kasamh Se from 2006 to 2009.

She wrote seventy-plus episodes for the NDTV Imagine series Basera in 2009. From 2009 to 2014, she wrote over thirteen hundred episodes for the superhit Zee TV daily soap opera Pavitra Rishta.
