Sumalya Dasgupta

Sumalya Dasgupta is an Indian media producer working predominantly in the Hindi Television and News Industry. He hails from West Bengal, India. Sumalya attended South Point School, Dayawati Modi Public School, and Cambridge School. He graduated from Maharaja Agrasen College of the University of Delhi in 2006. For his postgraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, he attended Amity University from 2006 to 2008. Sumalya Dasgupta was the trainee assistant producer of Noida-based radio channel 93.5 RED FM in 2007. He joined the Delhi-based national news channel NDTV in 2008. In NDTV, Sumalya worked as an assistant producer for multiple news and feature shows, including the NDTV English segment Truth v/s Hype. In 2011, he joined Homeshop 18 in Noida as an associate producer.

Sumalya then shifted to Mumbai and worked as a producer with the news channel Economic Times Now from 2012 to 2014. From 2014 to 2016, he was the senior producer in two notable companies- Bloomberg TV India and Shop CJ India. Sumalya Dasgupta shifted to Delhi in 2017 and served as the senior producer of NDTV till 2019. He handled several event management projects for the Delhi-based European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC) from 2020 to 2021. Sumalya Dasgupta became a freelancer producer in 2021 and is involved in various production projects like sports, news, corporate films, feature shows, etc. He is fluent in Bengali, Hindi, English, and Spanish. Sumalya enjoys watching various sports such as cricket, football, tennis, WWE, etc. He is a film buff and also a food lover.
