Mahesh Ramanathan

Mahesh Ramanathan is an Indian producer. He has worked in Hindi, Punjabi, and Kannada films. He pursued his higher education from Bharati Vidyapeeth in Pune, Maharashtra and also has a degree in Master’s of Business Administration from the reputed Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. In 1991, after getting his post-graduate diploma in Business Management from the well-known IIM of Ahmedabad, Mahesh tried to experiment and explore different possible career options.He got into the Reliance Company in the year 2007. He worked in Reliance as the Chief Operating Officer of the Films produced by Reliance branch of Big Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. This period is when his career crossed with the field of films and movies. He showed a natural flair for Media and Marketing.

He won the National Award for a record-breaking five times as the producer and the Chief Operating Officer. After a successful career, he quit Reliance. He worked at Reliance for eight years before he resigned to pursue his individual dreams and aspirations. After this, he partnered with the Oscar award-winning musical genius, Resul Pookutty, and together they set up an organization that focused on production services and film production. They planned to target the Regional movies and a few other exceptional Hindi films. During his tenure at Reliance, Mahesh made many important and decisive choices that turned out to be profitable to the company. Under his guidance, movies like Bodyguard, Singham series, Don 2 and 3 Idiots rolled out. All of these films were box-office hits and not only Bollywood, but Reliance also left a mark on Telugu and Bengali movies.

The joint venture of Mahesh and Dr. Resul is called Le Penta Entertainment. While Resul will manage the creative department of the organization, Mahesh will manage the sales and business sector. He has also been working on raising funds and finance for the same.Mahesh is a visionary and has a very keen business acumen. He has the knack of spotting good investments and the restraint to control bad investments. He won the National Awards for Paa and Well Done Abba, which goes on to prove that he can very well identify what movie will give a better return. He does not have a background in the film industry and sees it purely as a budding market for start-ups and investments. Even then, despite that, he still enjoys catching up on a new film here and there whenever he has the time to dedicate from his extremely busy schedule. He is strategic and very objective in his business dealings, which makes people respect him even more. He currently resides in Mumbai.
