Harshavardhan Kulkarni is a Bollywood Director, who stands out for taking unconventional films. This Engineer-turned-Director entered into the field of Cinema in the year 2006. Kulkarni is a multitalented person. Besides Direction, he is also into writing and Production. He started his career in the year 2006, by writing the screenplay of the Telefilm, named The Chosen One. The flick was directed by Vinil Mathew.
He then got the desire to direct a movie and hence assisted the Director Kaushik Roy, who did the film Apna Asmaan, in the year 2007. The movie that had
and Shobana in the lead taught plenty of valuable lessons regarding direction to Harshavardhan. With this knowledge, he went on to direct his debut movie in the year 2008. The film titled, The Lost and Found, was a short film. It revolves around a hundred-year-old bottle and the different people it has met on its journey.
The movie was very different and received critical acclamation. Next on his list of Direction was the film Hunter that released in the year 2015. He has also written the screenplay for the movie. Kulkarni has depicted the story of a sex-obsessed guy in a very funny way. His weird thinking made him write the story of the movie
Hasee Toh Phasee
that released in the year 2014. He was also in charge of the dialogues of the movie. He has also been the producer of the short films, The Chosen One and The Lost and Found.
He has been given the National Film Award and the Indian Telly Film Award for his uncustomary flicks. Harshavardhan was born into a mediocre family. He did engineering in Pune but did not take up any jobs related to his course. Instead, he worked along with B.P. Singh of Television fame, who had studied in FTII of Pune. After assisting him, Harshavardhan did a post-graduate course at Film and Television Institution of India and then started creating a niche for himself in Bollywood.
