He attended Colgate University, and he directed also acted in Colgate stage productions. He also made lots of super 8mm films. He pursued his dream of making movies professionally. He has further earned his M.A. in cinema at USC where he met writing partner S.S Wilson. His writing career included understanding people’s attitudes and how they talk. He approaches screenwriting through characters. After graduation, Maddock found work editing educational and industrial films before sequencing them into scripting and directing. His writing included scientific fiction, comedy, Wildlife, and more. He also kept a balance between humor and horror.
His movie Short Circuit gained immense popularity. He had a comprehensive fan following. He was a hardworking and kindhearted person. His other films Batteries Not Included, Tremors, Wild Wild West, and more were renowned movies. He won the Golden Raspberry Award for screenplay for the television series Wild Wild West in 1999.
