The OTT platform is bringing the globe closer together, and the buzz around it has grown even more since the lockdown. On Netflix, Amazon, and Hotstar, audiences have gone berserk. Certain episodes, series, and movies have left an indelible impression on fans' minds; while discussing the Netflix series, it's impossible not to mention the Indian show "The Delhi Crime," which won an International Emmy award. Apoorva Bakshi produced the series. She is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Golden Karavan, Awedacious Originals, and Project FUEL. She has built a name for herself as one of the most successful South Asian producers. She received her undergraduate degree from St. Xavier's and her postgraduate degree from MICA in 2008.
Her credits include Sundance favorite and International EMMY winner DELHI CRIME, National Award winners Shut up Sona and Leeches, Netflix Musical What are the Odds? and the widely viewed Facebook Original HOMESPUN. She's also worked for Sony Pictures Entertainment Networks Asia, where she handled vast style projects such as Amazing Race Asia, India's Minute to Win It, and Cyril Simple Magic. Apoorva has successfully purchased and released over forty award-winning indie films, including Cannes favorites Gangs of Wasseypur, Golden Globe shortlists Fandary & Siddharth, IDFA winner Placebo, and Indian Selection for the Oscars Visaranai, amongst several more.
Her next documentary titled WOMB - Women of My Billion will be shown at festivals beginning in June 2021. Apoorva has successfully handled both the creative and corporate sides of the entertainment industry, and she strives to discover innovative approaches to develop and integrate the two. Apoorva, a skilled sharpshooter and professionally trained Bharatnatyam dancer, flies between SFO and Mumbai every three weeks and enjoys backpacking around the world when she's not in the air.Â
