A.B. Moosa

A.B. Moosa is a Consultant to the Listen Media Campaign Company SA Ltd and has been involved in the Film and Cinema business for 25 years. He started by joining his father in the management of the Avalon Group, South Africa’s largest and oldest cinema company, where he is now the managing director. He pursued his bachelors in commerce from the University of South Africa and an MBA from Henley Business School. AB Moose has worked in the film and theatre industry for 25 years and currently serves as a consultant for the Listen Media Campaign Company SA Ltd. He began by working with his father at the Avalon Group, the largest and most established movie theatre chain in South Africa, where he is currently the managing director. Avalon and AB joined the organization Nolava International Film & Television Distribution, which obtains Hollywood and Bollywood content for distribution in South Africa, and co-founded the Durban International Film Festival.

AB's paternal grandfather brought Mahatma Gandhi to South Africa when he was a young lawyer, and AB continued the family connection by assisting in organizing the welcome for Shri Mati Sonia Gandhi, the late Rajiv Gandhi's wife and a guest of President Nelson Mandela. President Thabo Mbeki, who invited AB to travel with him on his state visit to the US, and the South African Minister of Arts & Culture, who asked him to serve as a council member on the board of the National Film & Video Foundation, both recognized AB and his company's contribution to the South African film industry (NFVF). He is continuously looking for ways to use technology to empower regular people, which is why Afri-Tec Alert was created.
