Faruk Kaiser

Faruk Kaiser, also known as Farooq Kaiser, was a renowned and well-known Indian poet and lyricist. Faruk is known for his predominant contributions to the Urdu folk. Being an Urdu poet, he played a vital role in the upliftment of Urdu literature. Faruk also played a significant role in Indian Cinema as well. He was also considered the dominating force in Bollywood during his era. The years between 1950 and 1980 got considered as golden years of his life. Kaiser was born on the 6th of June, in the year 1918. Kaiser’s place of birth is Bombay. Faruk was born into a family of jewellers. He did his studies in Bombay. Blessed with an inquisitive mind, he, as a kid, always engaged himself in the depth of the books, newspapers, and knowledge. When his mother died, he took shelter and submerged himself in poetry and literature.

Faruk’s kinship with Kamran Khan and his love for poetry made him develop extreme enthusiasm for the Indian cinema. Soon, he ventured into Bollywood, acted in few films, wrote beautiful lyrics, also worked as an assistant director, and played a fundamental role in editing dialogues and script. In 1959, he tied his knot with his live Aisha. They both had three children. On the 10th of November, in the year 1987, the Bollywood industry and the Urdu folks drowned in the gloom after the announcement of his death. The industry lost a precious and legendary gem ever.
