Partap Sharma born in 12 December,1939 at Lahore, Punjab (Undivided India). He was a famous Indian Playwright, Novelist, Commentator, Actor and Director. He was famous for his Awesome Documentaries and Books. Partap was the oldest Son of Dr. Baijnath Sharma and Dayawati Sharma. His father was Civil Engineer and worked as a Technical Advisor to Government in Cylon. His father Retired after 20 Years of jonest duty. After this his family came back to their ancestral property in Punjab. His father worked as a Farmer in the village. Partap was also very good in studies. He was a very bright student. Partap got his early education from the Bishop Cotton School, Shimla. After completing his school, Partap went to St.Xavier's College, Bombay. He fulfilled his dream of College.
He was married to English Girl named Susan Amanda Pick. Partap had Two Daughters- Namrita and Tara Sharma.Tara Sharma became a actress in Bollywood. After completing his College, Partap went to Indian National Theatre, Mumbai. He made his debut in Theatre with his first play " Bars Invisible". He made lot of Documentaries and Short Films in his life. He also Directed Documentaries for the"Government Of India". He also made Newsreels and Award winning Documentaries. Partap also performed as a Dubbing Actor. He was the voice of many short films and shows produced in India. He was the TV Host of the Popular Shows. Partap had a very successful career in the Theatre.
He also wrote many books and novels. All of his novels are very Famous. He wrote total of 10 books in his career. He wrote the famous novel "Dog Detective Ranjha" which was dedicated to the Animal Lovers. He also wrote the "Days Of Turban", which defined our Society from the inside. He also wrote the book "The Little Master Of The Elephant". It defined the story of a parched land. These all are the famous books of Partap. He was also very perfect in the Film-making of Short Films. He also made many plays in his career. "Power Play", "Queen Bee" and "Sammy" all are his famous plays. Partap Sharma also directed outstanding documentaries for the "Government Of India" .
He directed nearly about 12 Documentaries as an Independent Producer. He directed the Short Film "Kamli". It Defined the Status of Women in rural Indian Society. He also directed the "Viewpoint Amritsar" which was based on the Blue Star Operation. Partap Sharma got Awards and Honours for his performances in the Industry. He won Prize in University for his fabulous acting at "All India Inter university Youth Festival" . He won National Award for lead role in film "Phir Bhi". He won "Meta Award " for best original Script for his Short film "Sammy". He won total of 8 Awards in his career. He died in 30 November, 2011 at Birmingham, UK. But he was being remembered for his outstanding directing and writing.
