The brave and the honest, Saumya Mishra is the first female IPS Officer from Odisha. From the Police Cadet of 1994, she has held several top positions and was the secretary of the Home of Telangana.
During her police career years, she was posted in places like Vijayawada, Karimnagar, Vijayanagara, Warangal and Karimnagar. She was born in Cuttack. She did her education in Stewart school and her Ph.D. from Ravenshaw Collegiate School, Utkal University, where she receives a scholarship.
She attempted the civil service exam, passed it with flying colours and made a life changing the decision of leaving research. She is married to a retired IAS officer Mr. Debabrata Kantha. She has a daughter and a son. She got the Police Award in 2004 and is popularly known for being the finalist of
