Aneesh Pradhan, based in Mumbai, India, leads a life that allows him to be a performer, composer, student, teacher, researcher, and author. Aneesh Pradhan, one of India's top tabla players, is a student of renowned tabla master Nikhil Ghosh, from whom he received a wide range of traditional tabla solo compositions from the Punjab, Delhi, Ajrada, Lucknow, and Farrukhabad Gharana.

He has recorded extensively for domestic and foreign record labels alongside various vocalists and instrumentalists. "Tabla solo: a continuous legacy," a studio recording created in 2006, after his debut tabla solo album, "Tabla: the solo tradition," which was recorded live in concert in 1997 and released in 2004. Aneesh frequently broadcasts on radio and television in India. He has also been featured on foreign radio and television networks and served as one of the radio hosts for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's "Perspectives - North Indian Classical Music" radio program. His suggestions on the rhythmic elements of this musical system were vital to this series. In addition to his work with art music, Aneesh Pradhan frequently performs and composes musical collaborations that span cultural boundaries.

Aneesh is equally drawn to melody and rhythm in his works, which range from melodic and text-based compositions based on classical vocal and instrumental Hindustani music to pieces written for tabla solo repertory. He is eager to push the boundaries of sound and music experimentation through his music composition for film, television, theater, and dance productions. Notably, Aneesh Pradhan and Shubha Mudgal supplied research for the play "Stories in a Song," which was created by Shubha Mudgal and directed by Sunil Shanbag. Both of them also composed and chose the play's soundtrack. Aneesh also served as the award-winning Marathi film "The Disciple" director Chaitanya Tamhane's soundtrack designer and research consultant. Aneesh has been a performer and composer in an ongoing relationship with the Ensemble Modern, Frankfurt, since 2003.

He has also been a member of the Asian Fantasy Orchestra, based in Japan, since 1998. His cross-cultural collaborations have also been commercially released in some cases. Sandy Evans, Shubha Mudgal, and Aneesh Pradhan worked on the Bridge of Dreams project, created and performed by the Australian Sirens Big Band. Aneesh Pradhan has previously served as an artist-in-residence at the University of New England Australia as a guest lecturer at the University of Mumbai's Music Department.

He held the Senior Research Fellow and Adjunct Research Fellow at Macquarie University at Australia's Department of Music, Media, and Cultural Studies and India Research Center, respectively. He co-taught a Hindustani music course at Ashoka University in India's performing arts department with Shubha Mudgal. At numerous universities and other educational institutions in India and abroad, he frequently gives lectures-demonstrations, leads workshops, and participates in seminars. At Monash University at Australia's Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music, Aneesh held the Adjunct Senior Research Fellow position.
