Prashant Bhattacharya Jatra is a world-famous composer and singer. At one time, Shanti Gopal composed many travel songs. In the ’70s and ’80s, he wrote songs for some of Shantigopal’s famous journeys like Lenin, Hitler, and Netaji Subhas Chandra. He was admitted to a private hospital with a severe chest infection. Prashant spent many days in the ICU of the hospital. He was admitted in November last year. Suchitra Sen’s Kakli Chowdhury has worked with Prashant Bhattacharya.
Upon learning of Prashant Babu’s death, he said, “I worked with them for the first year of my journey. That was a half-professional team. I was very young then. I used to call Prashant Babu Mama. He was an outstanding composer. Extremely famous. It is unfortunate to hear that he has left us. A close friend of Prashant said “ Prashant is a legendary person who has made history and will always be remembered for his works. The late Prashant Bhattacharya was 63 years old.
