Tajour Sultana popularly known as Veena, is a beautiful Indian actress who worked in Hindi Film Industry. Born on July 4, 1926, in Quetta, Baluchistan(now in Pakistan), she made her debut at the tender age of 16 years. Her debut film was titled 'Garib' which was produced under Mehboob Khan Production in the year 1942. Later she starred in a several including 'Najma,' 'Phool,' 'Humayun,' to name a few. All these films were released before the partition, and thus she became famous for her roles in pre-partition Hindi and Urdu films.
Her last film before partition was 'Rajputani' in the year 1946, post which she decided to stay back in India. Later she played major roles in the bid movies like 'Chalti ka Naam Gaadi,' 'Kaagaz Ke Phool,' Paakeezah,' etc. Veena won the Filmfare award for the best-supporting actress for her role in the film 'Taj Mahal' in the year 1963.
