Nina Sarkar

Nina Sarkar is an Indian actress and model. She was born on 24th March in Bangalore where she has grown up. She is known for the music video Leja Leja Re and the movie Money Devo Bhava. Nina attended high school at Baldwin Girls’ High School in Bangalore. She studied psychology at Mount Carmel College in Bangalore. Her Mount Carmel College alumni include actresses like Vasundhara Das, Mamata Mohan Das, Radhika Pandit and Deepika Padukone, inspired by whom Nina decided to try modelling and shifted to Mumbai. Nina began her career by modelling in the music video Leja Leja Re by singers Ustad Sultan Khan, Shreya Ghosal and The Divas and composed by Sandesh Shandilya in 2008. The music video was well received and Nina received several offers for movies. Nina then modelled in about fifteen television commercials, one of which was the L’ Oreal Paris – Total Repair testimonial advertisement which also featured the Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She also modelled in over fifty fashion shows and featured in many magazines and photo shoots. Nina made her acting debut with the Hindi film Vroom directed by Savin Tuscano as the lead actress. The movie hit the screens on 14th May 2010. Nina acted in the English movie Lucky Man directed and written by Ushmey Chakraborty in 2013. The film won a nomination for the South Africa India Film and Television Awards in the same year. Nina also starred in the Hindi crime drama movie Money Devo Bhava directed and written by Anand Sivakumaran and produced by Atul Productions. Despite completion the Central Board of Certification did not certify the film for public screening for two years. It finally screened in public in the competitive section of the Lonavla International Film Festival India on 2nd September 2016. Nina worked as a video jockey at the B4U Movies, a Bollywood channel. She worked at Bright Kid Montessari House in Bangalore as the Center Head. She joined The Barrow Group Theatre Company in the New York City where she worked between 2013 and 2014. She is the Head of Philanthropy for the Buy My Time group, a platform where fans donate for a cause to win a chance to spend time with their favourite celebrities or gain equally exciting experiences. The company auctioned a chance to watch a football match of Manchester United v/s Chelsea with Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan in London by donating for a cause in 2016.

Nisha Parulekar is a Marathi film actress. She was born on 19 September 1974, in Mumbai. She completed her Higher Secondary Education from AFAC English School. She went to Swami Vivekanand Institute of Technology in Chembur. She is a graduate in Engineering. Later, she started working at a firm. Soon, she got married to Suresh Bangera and conceived a daughter named Mayuri. It is interesting to know that she never thought about becoming an actress. In fact, she began her acting career after her marriage. Nisha's career in acting was a matter of chance. Her debut role was in turtur in which she played an insignificant role. Despite its banality, it opened the gates of Marathi cinema for her. Nisha is best known for her role in Teen Bayka Fajiti Aika which is a Marathi comedy film released on 23 March 2012. She played the role of Prajakta in the comedy. In 2015, she played the character of Vatsala Naik, wife of Vasantrao Naik, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra in Mahanayak Vasant tu, a biopic. She was vastly admired for the role. Nisha also played a role in Zari which is a women-oriented movie based on the dilemma of the Adivasi females. When asked about her choice of characters, she claims that she prefers roles which challenge her and help her develop as an actor. The actress played the part of Mainavati, Parvati's mother in the show, Ganpati Bappa Moreya. The role was negative and came as a huge challenge for her. When asked about her preference among television and film, the actress complains about the long, and tiring hours of shooting for a daily soap. The movie actress in her always prefers cinema over television. In 2017, she contested for the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections from Ward No. 9 as a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. But, she lost the elections by a margin of four-hundred votes. Thus, her political career ended even before it started. But, Nisha's acting career has taken her to the peak of Marathi cinema making her one of the most popular Marathi actresses.
