Shagun Pandey was born on 31 March 1997 in Chandigarh. He is from a middle-class Hindu family. Shagun is the elder son of Ravi Pratap and Vandana Pandey. His sister is Vasundhara Pandey. Shagun studied at Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh. After which, he finished his graduation at B. Tech from Chandigarh University. He fantasized about making a profession in the field of acting since his childhood. After graduating, he moved to Mumbai.

Shagun began his profession with the TV show Santoshi Maa. In this series, he played Guddu. After this, he worked in Badho Bahu.
