Sachit Patil

Sachit Patil is known in India for many things. Right from being a writer, an actor, a director in movies as well as plays. While he hasn’t garnered mainstream attention yet, he is still a very talented and truly gifted men in the film and TV industry right now. Born on March 1st 1979, the actor-slash-director is more recognized in M-Town rather than the more popular B-Town. Born and brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra, it is not hard to understand how and why he got into the film and television industry. Being a native of Mumbai, means you’re a citizen of one of the most cinematically inclined cities in the country. And hence Sachit Patil had the same passion thousands of others in this city do. Except he had the talent and the perseverance to follow his dreams- a feat most lack. It is this undaunted spirit of his that made him successful despite the adversity and competition he faced.

The Mumbaikar graduated from Ruparel College, a college in the sleepy district of Matunga. It was here where his career actually started, unofficially at least. Throughout his days in junior and senior college, he was cast in countless plays and acts, all of which he played the lead in! As the days went by, Sachit got better and better, learnt more and more, and kept polishing his acting skills while at the same time imbibing the spirit of being a director. Learning from his peers, he was destined to make it in the industry. In fact, it was through one of his theatre groups that he got his first official big break. He had auditioned and gotten the opportunity to play a role in a Bollywood flick called “Kyon?” This movie was received well by critics. It was a crime and drama based Marathi movie which revolved around a couple whose daughter is kidnapped and later found dead, and the hunt for the murderers.

This movie made Sachit moderately famous among the film community. Sachit then followed this up by getting a role in his first M-Town film named Zenda by the director Avdhoot Gupte. This proved to be a beneficial move for his career as it was a box office hit from day one! Sachit then went on to make his directorial debut by making the film “Saade Maade Teen”. This movie which released early in 2007 was once again a super hit! It was a comedy flick he’d written about three brothers and their lives and times. In his latest film “Kshanbhar Vishranti”, he pulled a trio of roles- being the lead actor, the director, as well as the scriptwriter! This demonstrates his passion for the business. When it comes to his personal life, he’d gotten quite lucky. He got to marry his proverbial high school sweetheart- Shipla Rai. He’s now living a peaceful life with his wife and children in Mumbai, always looking forward to his next project. Rest assured, he’s not ready to hang up his boots yet!
