Girish Jain is an Indian television actor and director who popularly appeared as Dr. Jaswant Rai Singhania, the husband of Abha (played by
Silky Khanna
) who had an extra marital affair to other woman in the daily soap,
Hitler Didi
on Zee TV. He also earned fame after bagging a negative role in the popular drama series, Zindgi Ka Har Rang… Gulaal on Star Plus.
He was born in Bangalore, Karnataka and raised up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He studied Bachelor of Commerce during college and he speaks English, Urdu, Marathi, Hindi, Rajastani and Gujarati. Girish developed his passion for acting when he attended Mithibai College in Mumbai. His persistent hard work was paid off after he joined theatre in college and trained to become a good actor. After he finished college, he directed several plays and he took various acting workshops to help fresh talent. Later, he joined the Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA); one of the most oldest and reputable theatre group in India. He also learnt television and film directing so he can be able to understand the technical features of the field. After working as an assistant director for almost a year, he got his break in television through one of the most popular Zee TV series, Hip Hip Hurray, where he played the role of Avinash.
In 2005, he acted as the friend of Swetha (played by
Mouli Ganguly
) in the drama soap, Kutumb on Sony Entertainment Television. He also appeared in the thriller-horror series, ‘Ssshhh…Koi Hai’ on Star Plus. Girish was also part of the Hindi series, Ayushmaan. He bagged the role of Avi in the short-lived television serial,
Saath Rahega Always
on Sahara One. In 2006, he acted in Hermant Prabhu’s ‘Sati…Satya Ki Shakti’ which was also aired on Sahara One and
Saathii Re
on Star One. In 2007, he appeared in the Hindi series, Main Aisi Kyunn Honn. Ginish was also seen in the drama series,
Pari Hoon Main
. The actor also did an episodic in the Hindi crime-based show,
Savdhaan India
– India Fights Back on Life OK. He was also starred in the ‘Haunted Fort’ episode of Zee TV’s
Fear Files
in 2013, along with
Mohit Sharma
and
Eshu Gambhir
. Recently, he played as a band manager in the television courtroom drama series, Adaalat on Sony TV together with
Vishal Thakkar
. The actor also appeared in an episode of the drama documentary series, Bhoot Aya.
Besides television, he was also cast as Guppi in the 2007 Bollywood action film, Kaafila which stars
Sunny Deol
.
