Tamara Moss is a Dutch-Indian model who is highly acclaimed in the fashion industry. She has been the face of many global brands like Elle and Femina. Tamara grew up in the city of Mumbai, inspired by the glamor of its entertainment industry. She began modeling as a teenager and, at the age of 17, was already a voice and accent trainer. Tamara went on to work on numerous catalogues and video shoots throughout her career.
In 2009, she was the main model for the Provogue Women’s Wear Spring-Summer Collection, and she was also a Kingfisher Calendar girl. Besides fashion, she has also worked a great deal towards educating and empowering rural women. Her work often involved a lot of travel across the globe, and during one of her assignments, she came to the village of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. She was struck by the culture of the tribes, and she even learned to play the native string instrument, Ravanhatta. This interaction with the people there left her wanting to do something about the extreme poverty in the region.
She began the organization ‘Sunflower Learning Centre’ in 2016 as a way to bring in education and individual development among the people. Her drive to create a better future has brought hope to many young lives in the state of Rajasthan.
