Born in 1968, Priyadarshini Pradhan is a supermodel and actress who won the title of Miss India in 1987. She also represented India in the beauty pageant Miss Universe 1987, where she won the Best Asian Contestant and Best National Costume Awards.

In 1989, she became the first Indian woman to win the crown and title of India World Miss University. She also won the titles of Miss Photogenic and Miss Friendship at the pageant. Priyadarshini was a U.N Peace Ambassador for a year after winning the pageant.

She worked in Japan for Chiyobi Sirene and then returned to India to continue working as a model. She did a lot of ad-films for several popular brands such as Britannia, Ericsson, Marlboro, Bombay Dyeing, Sunsilk, and many more. She has also been featured in Pride of India, a book by Persis Khambatta and Catwalk Cuisine, a book by Bidappa and Noorani.

She appeared in various music videos and has done television shows for BBC, SBC (Singapore), MBC (Mauritius), NHK (Japan), etc.
