Manushi Chhillar

Manushi Chillar is a model, beauty pageant titleholder and Miss World 2017. Maushi was born in Rohtak, Haryana on May 14th, 1997. Her father Dr. Mitra Basu Chillar is a scientist by profession and works at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) while her mother Dr. Neelam Chillar is an associate professor and head of the department of neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences by profession. She attended St. Thomas School in Delhi and was all India CBSE topper in English. She cleared her NEET in the first attempt and is pursuing a medical degree from Bhagat Phool Singh medical college in Sonipat. Manushi is a well trained Kuchipudi dancer and a well-learned singer and has also attended National Drama School. Manushi took part in Fbb Campus Princess 2017 where she was crowned finalists from All India Institute of Medical Sciences during her college fest.

Chillar further represented her state in Femina Miss India competition where she won Miss Photogenic, and she went on to win the title of Miss India 2017 and the right to represent India in Miss World 2017. During Miss World competition Manushi was a winner in the Head-to-Head Challenge from group nine and was also the co-winner of Beauty with a Purpose Challenge- Shakti, it was initiated to create awareness about menstrual hygiene. She visited over 20 villages and treated nearly 5000 women for her project. On November 18th Manushi as crowned Miss World 2017 by outgoing Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico.

Maushi was announced as the brand ambassador for Anaemia free Haryana and her beauty with purpose project Shakti was given support of Rs.18 Crore by the government and also a chance of expansion by providing free sanitary napkins to all girls in all the government schools in Haryana by its Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. She has been awarded Proud Maker Sigma award by Six Sigma Healthcare Leadership Summit and CNN-IBN Indian of the Year Special Achievement Award in New Delhi.
