Smita Sharma

Smita Sharma is an award-winning Independent Senior Journalist/Columnist and TV Commentator in India .She writes in Hindi and English on foreign policy and security issues for ETV Bharat, Huffington Post, Dainik Bhaskar and other news platforms. She was consulting with TV9 Bharatvarsh as Executive Editor till recently hosting the 9 pm flagship show. She has been the Deputy Editor with one of India’s oldest daily The Tribune. Formerly she was also the Foreign Affairs in-charge and Prime Time Anchor with leading news networks in India including India Today TV, Aajtak, IBN7 and CNN-IBN and DD News.

In 16 years of her journalistic career, she has covered major international and political assignments across the globe as well as elections, conflicts and natural disasters in India. Her columns have been published in national dailies and websites including The Hindu, The Hindustan Times and The Wire. Her reportage of the Kashmir conflict in 2010 won the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Award. She is an IVLP fellow and alumni of the Asia Pacific Centre for Security Studies (DKI-APCSS) in Hawaii. She has been invited as a speaker/ panelist in prestigious conferences and seminars overseas.
