Lekha Gupta

Lekha Gupta is an Indian makeup artist and hairstylist. Swarnlekha Gupta is her full name. She was born on 2 August in Calcutta, India. She did her schooling at La Martiniere for Girls School, Calcutta. Lekha has an MBA in finance and financial management and spent seven years working for ICICI Prudential Ltd (a mutual fund business) before pursuing a career as a professional makeup artist in the beauty industry.

Lekha always had a different kind of love for make-up. She used to play with her mother's makeup kit in her childhood and while working she loved to experiment with her makeup daily. Everyone around her adored the make-up she wore and that's the point where she decided to leave the corporate job to follow her passion and love for make-up in 2009. Lekha pursued a short-term course with Cory Wallie who is known for his master skills in Mumbai. After that, she departed for Singapore to further study makeup artistry at Makeup forever Academy for three months.

Megan got her first project for India Resort Fashion Week as a makeup artist then she worked for Kingfisher Calendar Hunt and she was invited to work at Femina Miss India 2012, which was a big break to her career. Her first work in films was a Bengal film which was shot in Thailand. Lekha hosted a talk show named" Vanity Diaries" which is presented by Amazon Beauty, where she questioned the different actresses and discussed the insights of the vanity van about their make-up.

According to her, if she was not a makeup artist she would have opened a school for able children and owned an animal shelter to help them. She is an animal lover and she also has two pet cats at her home. She revealed in an interview that she wants to start her make-up brand in which the products will be animal cruelty-free. And she wants to start a makeup Academy where she can teach the newcomers her makeup skills. She is a freelance make-up artist.
