Adil Manuel

Adil Manuel is an award-winning guitarist & music composer. He has a unique style blending various influences & genres and has been playing for over a decade now, Apart from these; he also manages advertising work, and programming shows for bands & festivals, being TEDx speaker, etc. He grew up in Varanasi and went to boarding school at St.Joseph’s, Nainital. Later he moved to Lucknow. He was very passionate about play drums but instead handed a guitar, and that’s how his journey being a guitarist began. He was a 13 year old when he was received first band offer.

“Chris Hale,” an incredible guitar player, was alongside Manuel during his first live band performance in Lucknow. He was the first Indie artist to perform at the age of 14-15. He wanted to pursue music further at either Boston’s Berklee College of Music/ Los Angeles Musicians Institute. In 2000, Manuel moved to New Delhi to pursue music further. Manuel took a liking to 15-watt amp- AC 15c/30c Bronco white by Vox, which helps him in great recording for gigs such as club gigs, big stage gigs, etc. In 2009, he collaborated with Vasundhara (Vocalist) as R&B/jazz band corporate gig duo. A few months later he collaborated with Vidalur, a famous guitarist alongside Vasundhara. Later in 2014, both the stars focused on solo projects. In 2012, his rock band “Them Clones,” with Joseph Lalhmachhuana (Guitarist), Ben Stivers, Prithwish Dev (Front man) at Bacardi NH7 Weekender, in Pune. Manuel released few tracks self-titled “EP” in 2010 and “Ampersand” in 2013. In 2015, he moved to Mumbai and formed a group come to the band, “Adil Manuel Collective.”

Manuel’s manager Rish Raj Ravi, who locked in the availability of musicians & dates for rehearsals, helming the setlist, formed the Collective, Yohann Coutinho (Bassist), Linford D’Souza (Drummer), Rahul Wadhwani (Keyboardist), James Miranda (Trumpet), Samantha Fernandes (Vocalist) and more. Adil Manuel Collective, a pop/ retro set debuted their first single “Times Turn ft. Azamaan” (Vocalist). They also put on a stellar show at the “International Tazz Day” gig at Mumbai’s Flea Bazaar Café on April 30th (the 7th jazz day gig organized by Manuel independently). On August 6, they put on a “World blue Music Day,” at Social/ Anti- Social, Khar, Mumbai.

Over 40 of Mumbai’s finest musicians spread across two unique sets including, Neo-Soul, Hip-hop & modern jazz-based. It revolves around Texas and Chicago blues plus blue rock music. He has 20 years of experience now in Mumbai. During Priyanka Chopra (Indian Actress) & Nick Jonas’s (American Musician) cocktail party and wedding reception on November 30, 2018, they played two sets at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. He toured two albums internationally and awarded, Jack Daniel’s Rock Awards Guitarist of the year 2007.
