Sonam Sherpa was the lead guitarist of the band Parikrama and a renowned composer. He was born on 8 October 1971 in Kalimpong, West Bengal. He completed his schooling from St. Augustine’s School, Kalimpong. After that, he did his graduation in B. Com (Hons) from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University. . Sherpa ran and owned a school based on his band Parikrama in Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi. Unfortunately, he died due to a cardiac arrest on 14 February 2020 in Kurseong. He went there to record the music of his next album. He was 48 years old. He was also featured in Rolling Stones magazine’s list ‘Top 10 Guitarists of India.’ He was a part of CNBC’s show ‘Young Turks,’ which focused on young entrepreneurs. He was also featured by BBC in a rockumentary during their Download Festival Tour. His hits include ‘Am I Dreaming,’ ‘But It Rained,’ ‘Tears of the Wizard,’ ‘Superhero,’ etc.
