Myrhna James

Myrhna James is an independent filmmaker and director based in Kathmandu, Bāgmatī, Nepal. She has studied Diploma in Television and a Bachelor's in Production, Direction, and TV Journalism at the Academy of Films in 2008. She started her journey in the entertainment industry as a production assistant at the Aafreen Films in New Delhi, where she was responsible for casting, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating shooting dates with the actors for the production. Thereafter, she started working as an assistant director in 2012 at Optimystix Entertainment India Private Limited in Mumbai and worked on a popular TV show Crime Patrol to handle costume, props, and overall detailing of the character.

In April 2015, she was associated with the Saaibaba Telefilms and worked as a Senior Executive Assistant and coordinated with the creative team on a number of show pitches and concepts for live events and televised reality shows. Myrhna got her first film project in January 2015, when she worked as production head in a feature film called Kerry on Kutton which was released in 2016. Myrhna also worked as a writer in 2017 on a short film called Touttay, produced under the banner of Trishank Entertainment Private Limited in Mumbai. Since 2018, she has been working as an independent writer, director, content developer and filmmaker, and made four feature films, two short films, two documentaries, several television shows, and a number of commercials and promos.

Her short film Oh! Scarlet was the first directorial venture of Myrhna. It was an attempt to throw light on the ongoing callousness of authorities towards violence against women.
