Dheeraj Sharma is a Delhi-based film director and social worker. He was born on the 20th of February 1982. He is the director of an NGO called Team Pages. His most famous work is his Hindi documentary film on drug abuse among people experiencing homelessness in Delhi. The movie was titled “Nashebaaz: The Dying People of Delhi”. The movie was 1 hour and 7 minutes long. The film took five years to be completed and was first shown at the London Film Festival in 2016 and was awarded the first prize. It premiered in 2016 in Serbia. The movie was produced by Dhirendre Khandelwal (In My Mind Productions).
Neeraj Agnihotri was the editor and cinematographer of the film. It became popular on the internet when a clip from the trailer went viral online and became a meme. The clip featured a homeless child named Kamlesh who roamed near Rajiv Chowk in Delhi and used and abused substances for survival. Dheeraj has also worked in many other films like this that focus on dark issues in our society. He starred in a short thriller film titled “I Miss Her,” produced by In My Mind Productions and directed by Dhirendre Khandelwal. The film was released in 2012.
