Shubrajyoti Barat is an applauded character actor and theatre director. Shubrajyoti Barat was born into a Bengali family in Kolkata and brought up in Varanasi. He did his schooling at St. John’s School in Varanasi. He ventured into theatre acting during his twelfth grade. Shubrajyoti Barat made it as a professional theatre actor by meeting an intercollegiate theatre director named Sabyasachi Deb Burman while he was pursuing Engineering. In 1993, he joined the Nadira Babbar’s theatre group Ekjute. Since then; he has been very much dedicated to theatre for over two decades. Following a successful career in theatre, he ventured into film acting in 2003. He performed as a writer and actor in the film ‘Escape from Taliban’ where he played the role of Jalil.
