Raja Choudhury is an Indian film director, architect, spiritual guru, and architect in the Bollywood entertainment industry. He was born in Nigeria, Ibadan on 11 June 1964. His parents are Sukumar and Manjusri Choudhury. His father was expert in UN on deputation to World Health Organization from India. He grew up in Nigeria and Freetown. He attended the Sierra Leone Grammar School and later moved to Canada at 16 years old. He studied at the University of Waterloo and then studied architecture at the AA School of Architecture in 1984, London, UK and graduated in 1992. He married Jagriti Chadha in 2005 and has a daughter. He started the Computer Graphics Unit in the School which introduced CAD and 3D modelling for the first time. In 1993 he co-founded a digital design company with Mudimo Okondo and Emma Westecott. He designed the HMV Stores and VID Zone Kiosk Network at Tower Records in London, which was described as ‘the best Public Demo of Multimedia Ever’ by the Design Technology Magazine. He then became the creative director of agencies like Cohn & Wolfe and Converseon.

He designed the websites Webby Honorees in 2007, OurWeddingDay.com and CBCWorldwide.com in 2008. He produced the first multimedia broadband of Indian in 2008, Kiosk Entertainment Network for Coca-Cola which was called the Dilli Dil Se Network. Further, he has worked on large non-profit organizations and brands like tGELF, The Shift Network, and Alchemist Group. He mentored into film-making with the documentary film ‘Desi: South Asians of New York,’ telecast on Channel Thirteen with Glazer Creative in New York, 2000. He then produced several videos for the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Centre, American India Foundation, and others. Some of these are the National Film Award for Best Education/Motivational/Instructional Film in 2014, Golden Beaver Award in 2014 for the Best Indian Public Science Film. His famous TEDx Talk on ‘Yoga 3.0’ in New Delhi, 2015 has inspired many youngsters.
