R K Nayyar was an Indian film director. Besides directing the films, he also used to produce and screenwrite the stories in Hindi. He directed the first Hindi film, Love in Simla, which was released in 1960. That time, this movie came out as the fifth highest-grossing film of the year, summing around ₹1.7 crore at the box office. It was among the top 20 films in the Soviet Union. R. K. Nayyar had a working span from 1960 to 1990 as a producer, director and screenwriter. He wrote the stories of the films like Intaquam (1969) and Love in Simla (1960). R. K. Nayyar married the famous Indian actress of that time, actress Sadhana, in 1966. He died in 1995 and his complete name was Ram Krishna Nayyar.
