After ‘Issaq’, he is working on his next film which is a gangster drama, ‘Mohabbat Miya’. Manish Tiwary completed his school education in a small town in Bihar from a boarding school. Manish Tiwari was a student of Zoology at Hindu College in Delhi University. He got his postgraduate degree from Cambridge University, UK, and Yale University, USA. He is currently 36 years of Age. In a gap of six years, he directed two popular films, ‘Dil Dosti Etc’ and ‘Issaq’, Right after the first film, there were many offers for him, but most of them were college love stories, and he was done with exploring that in his first.

He didn’t want to repeat the same things again and again in his movies and want to reinvent himself. Meanwhile, he was working on the script of his film ‘Mohabbat Miya’, which was a gangster drama. Then he came with the idea of ‘Issaq’ and decided to take that forward first. Some Films like ‘ Ishaqzaade Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, ‘Ek Duuje Ke Liye’ and 'Raanjhnaa' based on the story of painful love, but Manish Tiwary was confident that his story would be noticeable. ‘Issaq’ is the story of Banaras and its neighboring areas where there was so much of violence unshackle by the sand mafia and controlled by urban elite and violent retaliation by Naxalite armies. It was the Indian version of Romeo and Juliet of William Shakespeare. Tiwari says Banaras plays an important role in his storyline. "It's the old world of Shakespeare set in the Hindi heartland, which has a rich history of religion and culture. Two contrasting emotions — love and hate — are at the center of this drama," he adds. During his visit to Banaras, he saw a building on the balcony overlooking the Ganga. That made him remind about a scene from 'Romeo and Juliet.’ That's how the film happened. The story was already told on screens many times, but Tiwary feels that it is the director’s personal touch and creativity that makes it look different and interesting. For ‘Dil Dosti Etc’, Manish Tiwary has achieved Salaam-E-Comedy Awards and got nominated in IIFA for the best debut director award.
