Tiwari says Banaras plays an important role in his storyline. "It's the old world of Shakespeare set in the Hindi heartland, which has a rich history of religion and culture. Two contrasting emotions — love and hate — are at the center of this drama," he adds. During his visit to Banaras, he saw a building on the balcony overlooking the Ganga. The story was already told on screens many times, but Tiwary feels that it is the director’s personal touch and creativity that makes it look different and interesting. For ‘Dil Dosti Etc’, Manish Tiwary has achieved Salaam-E-Comedy Awards and got nominated in IIFA for the best debut director award.
