Leigh Takata is a dancer, model, writer, director, producer and also an actress. Born on 26th March 1986 in Hayward, California, Leigh learned how to dance and act in Atlanta, where she, along with her family, relocated in the early 1990s. She did her schooling from Chattahoochee High School. Takata received her education of Bachelors of Arts (specializing in Spanish and Women’s Studies) from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA.
Later, she did her Masters of Arts in Professional Writing from Kennesaw State University. She was active in the field of acting since college. Leigh participated in many plays and theatre performances. She was a part of the school’s theatre group known as Black friars. One of her plays was in partnership with the Alliance Theatre, where she performed in different high schools located in that area.
Her film, Dear Women Project, was nominated as a semi-finalist for the Social World Film Festival. It relayed the stories of local women, addressing their sexual assault and domestic violence. The multi-talented artist had written, directed, and acted in the film ‘My Story of Sam’, which is about her personal experience that was out on 9th December 2017. She has done several photo shoots and runway shows. On 21st July 2018, Leigh Takata’s Productions had released the film, 3X.
She was cast in a phenomenal stage play, "12 Black Women in the Same Black Dress," in December 2017. Leigh did shoots for The Home Depot for training material and Girl Scouts of America for their GIRL innovator conference. Jakarta had worked with the Blaq Orchid Productions and on a music video with another company. She had the opportunity of working with Victoria Wilson on her short film. She was seen performing in a tragicomedy stage play, Damnation, on 19th November 2016. Leigh wrote, directed, and starred in the 2016 TV series called Four Friends.
The dancer had placed third in the Melee on the Bayou competition, Houston’s Premiere Pole competition. She had performed some comedy in Jordan Jackson’s I’m Funny and I Know It. Currently, she is self-employed and is the owner and founder of One Stop Gig Store in Pheonix, Arizona. Takata has nonprofit and corporate experience with expertise in Brand Compliance, SEO Campaigns, Social Media Management, Newsletter Creation, User Documentation, Web Content Development and Management, Script/Storyboard Development, Technical Content Review, and many more. Leigh is a member of Biography International Organization and JF&CS Volunteers in Action.
She is also the Co-secretary class of 2008. She is a human who believes in humanity and has helped millions of needy. The actor raises money for the annual Hunger Walk/Run and SAI's scholarship fund every year and also hosts Committee Member for the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Atlanta Hunger Walk. She has always wanted to share her love, compassion, and help with everyone to encourage them to love themselves and see their self-worth.
